Catch up

I'm a big slacker mom, but here it is, and there are a few more posts to come. But big news at our house for Mckayla! We had our first visit(S!) from the Tooth Fairy!! She's lost 2 teeth in the last month. My baby girl is growing up!
In other Mckayla news, she had her gifted testing done last month as well. We won't get results until April or May, so we're not stressing too much on the decision of whether to move her to the gifted school or not. Fortunately it's only a little over 1 mile away (and there are only 2 in the district, so we're pretty fortunate), unfortunately she realizes it means leaving her friends. But she's so friendly I know she'd make plenty of new ones. I really don't lean one way or the other right now. She's such a smarty pants, her teacher borrowing reading books from the 2nd and 3rd grade teachers for her homework, I just haven't met the 1st grade teachers where she's at yet to decide if they'll challenge her like Mrs Godfrey does who has been so great with her. Decisions decisions...

Oh! Is she testing for the ALPS program?? If so--and if you have questions--just let me know. My sister and I were both students in the ALPS program and after receiving my GT Endorsement last year, I'm always intrigued to hear what parents have to say. :)

I did the ALP program, too. If your daughter qualifies (and isn't overly opposed to it), I would highly recommend letting her do the program. I did it for 4 years at Westland Elementary and definitely have many fond memories of my time there and think it was an important move for my intellectual development and learning experiences throughout life. Hopefully she makes it---she sounds like a smarty pants if the teacher has to go up a few grades to challenge her!

Holy macaroni...2 teeth?! Erik keeps telling us "my tooth is loose", I think he is saying it because everyone around him is loosing teeth ;) Too cute! I'm sure she passed with flying colors on that test. She is a GENIUS! All will work out.
